The exact design of the product label is important in many ways. In the case of retail distribution, customers do not receive a safety data sheet, the only means of proper information is labeling with the right content. But even for industrial / professional use, the label can provide first aid in the event of an accident or spill.

The labeling of a hazardous substance / mixture may include different pictograms and hazard statements and H and P phrases, as appropriate. The pictograms and H-phrases depend on the composition and properties of the product, the regulation specifies the conditions of use. However, P phrases are not always clearly assigned to a hazard category, but must be selected taking into account the characteristics of the product. This requires experience and an accurate knowledge of the characteristics and uses of the substance / mixture.
